FRONTLINERS celebrated annual event with Dr Kiran Bedi

April 10, 2009 a memorable day for Indians in Kuwait
as India s pride and a national icon Dr KIRAN
BEDI was
the chief guest at the ANNUAL DAY function of
FRONTLINERS. The
function at the Masarah Al Hawally auditorium was a
runaway success with crowds thronging the venue
well before 6pm as DR Kiran Bedi promptly arrived on
time to the resounding guard of honor by the Bhavan s
student.
FRONTLINERS the prominent Indian association walking
its 12th year of honorary social work both in the host
national Kuwait & at our mother-land started the
celebration with colorful display of song & music to
invoke the true sense of patriotism. S. Velu Vice
president of the association welcomed the invitees and
Children from various Indian school excelled on stage to
give a befitting honor to the chief guest Dr. Bedi & to
the highly energetic new Indian Ambassador Mr. Ajai
Malhotra.

Our Ambassador said, “Kuwait government & prominent
Kuwaiti’s have expressed high praise for the Indian
community for their excellent behavior and social
conscious life style.” He therefore urged all to keep up
the good name and improve the social environment.
Special invitee from the Kuwaiti community Dr. Lubna Al
Kazi, Sociologist delighted the audience by expressing
high opinion about the achievement of Indians and also
the great work done by Dr Bedi both in the service
sector and in police duty.
Dr Kiran Bedi released the FRONTLINER
Book-XIII - “Young Indian achievers at Kuwait”- authored
by N.C.Mohandoss and
spoke at length. “Indians have always excelled at all
locations in the world but as NRI’s you have an
important duty, ensure that children get the needed
exposure about our mother-land and as elders you should
set example by starting social work in the village or
small town back home for the wards to keep up
continuity. Many of us have more than what we really
require and if we cultivate the habit of “giving” for
the under-privileged you could experience betterment
and a sense of satisfaction which is true peace and
happiness”. She

had many words of praise for the good service done by
FRONTLINERS over the years and said that it could be one
of very few non-resident Indian associations which has a
single point agenda of organizing only one event every
year and donating all the receipts for the social
charity back home.
Kuwait’s renowned Social and environmental activist
Sheikha Amdal Al Ahmed Al Jabar Al Sabah sent her
special wishes and high appreciation to Bedi for her
various achievements and her representative Eng Sami Al
Duaij presented a Memento & “Letter of Appreciation” to
her for this Kuwait visit.
Ms. Swarnamalaya noted dancer, actress from south India
present on the occasion released the FRONTLINER
souvenirand deliberated the importance of women
education in the rural area and the valuable
contribution by NGO’s.

Earlier Dr Abdul Razzak Rumane Frontliners
President, outlined the voluntary service rendered by
the group at Kuwait through humanitarian act & by keen
participation in Kuwait environmental improvement
programs. Mr.N.Lakshminarayanan Advisor speaking on the
occasion highlighted the significant achievements of Dr
Bedi and the impact she had made in the world arena by
her prison reforms and rehabilitation of drug addicts.
He said that her name symbolizes “women-achievers” in
modern India and her life style has been a motivational
force for the younger generation. Mr. Ashok Kalra
highlighted of the charity works by Dr Bedi through
her two NGO organisation Navajothi & India
Vision Foundation.
General Secretary Mr. D. Prabakar proposing the vote of
thanks praised the untiring work done by each of the
Team members and the co-operation extended by the
various school to provide the needed entertainment.
The program was compeered by Mrs Shegufa Merchant,
Dr.(Mrs). Devipriya & Ms. Angella. As the curtains drew
close at the later hours of the evening the Indian
community had a feel that a dream come true !!!! event
has taken place.

Frontliners Get to Gether Meeting |

“FRONTLINERS” team
members rejoiced with their family on May 2, 2009
for the grand success of their “National
Integration Show” held recently with Dr. Kiran Bedi,
I.P.S., as the Chief Guest.
Vice President Mr. S. Singaravelu opened the meeting
with a welcome note and President Mr. Abdul Rumane
addressed the members. The meeting was followed by
discussions covering the success comments received
from the mass public, in-house committee members
comments. All the members and their family
enthustaically joined in the group discussions and
focussed on creative ideas for further improvements
in the future programs.
Adviser Mr. N. Lakshminarayan, Patron Mr.
A.N.Natarajan, Mr.Murai Manohar, Mr.Joseph Panickar
and Mr. Sentamil Arasu addressed and thanked all
the committee members for the involvement they have
shown and the micro-level care they have taken at
every stage to bring out this program into a grand
success.

Secretary Mr. D. Prabhakar presented the financial
summary for the year highlighting the sponsors
overwhelming support to India Vision Foundation,
Swarnamalya Trust and for other regular helps.

Mohandoss, the man behind entire show , highlighted
the support rendered by our sponsors and team
member. Active participation certificates were
distributed to all the committee members as a token
of appreciation for their hard work. The meeting
concluded with a vote thanks followed by dinner.
