PRESS RELEASE
The Government of India has fixed, inter-alia, the
following criteria for Emigration Check Not Required (ECNR) status:
-
Persons staying abroad for more than three years from
the date of entry (period of short visits to India to be excluded)
-
Persons holding secondary school certificate (10th
class pass), recognized vocational training or higher degrees (Degrees
should be attested by the Ministry of External Affairs, New Delhi)
-
On the basis of ECNR Status of the Spouse (original
passport of spouse to be submitted along with application)
-
All Children up to the age of 18 years of age
provided they are accompanied by one or both parents. ECNR at the time
of re-issue of passport at the age of 18 years will be given, if
eligible.
Eligible Indian nationals willing to avail this
service are required to fill Miscellaneous Services Form (Application
Form No.3), bring one recent passport size photograph, original
passport and a photocopy of passport along with supporting documents
duly attested by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Government of India.
The fee for this service is KD 3.200. The application form maybe

The Government of India would like to recall Jumbo
Passports having Number (Z-000001 to Z-073000) issued from any Passport
Office in India/Embassy of India/Consulate General of India/High
Commission of India due to technical reasons.
The holders of the above Passport Numbers are requested to visit the
Consular Section of the Embassy of India, Kuwait from 1400 hrs to 1600 hrs
on working days (Sunday to Thursday) to submit their Passports along with
duly filled application form and two (2) photographs. All such passports
will be received at Counter Number six (6) in the Consular Hall. In case
of any difficulty Mr. Naresh Kumar, Extn: 283 or Embassy Reception at Extn.
No. 292/200 may be contacted. The Embassy of India, Kuwait will issue
fresh Jumbo Passport on Gratis basis on the next working Day.
This facility can be availed from any Passport Office of India/Mission of
India in the country of residence of the holder of above Passport Numbers,
on Gratis basis.
